The electric car and cheap highly efficient solar panels. Q. What are some of the barriers to green energy coming of age? A. Everybody wants jobs. If the green economy is successful, many jobs will be displaced and there will probably be a reduction in jobs. For example, if electric cars require very little maintenance, what will happen to all the mechanics and oil changers? What will happen to all the large companies that make millions off of oil? Q. What is the ultimate energy source? A. The sun produces solar power and wind power. Wind power creates wave power. Sun power also makes plants grow and is responsible for biomass. The sun is the ultimate source of energy. Without the sun, there would be nothing on earth. With that being said, scientists have tried to replicate the fusion process of the sun and have not, to date, been successful. In other words, fusion is the ultimate energy source.
